Trusting our Feelings

With all the changes in our family lives the past nine month we have come to realize the importance of listening and trusting that still small voice within. That voice that directs our thoughts, and our actions. I once wondered what it would be like to feel inspired to do something, just like in the stories we often read in the Ensign. I never thought I would ever experience something like that. Last March we felt that inspiration and trusted what we were feeling.... it directed us to do something that would not only change our own lives, but many others as well. We loved and welcomed 5 more children into our family. In the beginning this was not an easy task, due to their past history. But we have been constantly reminded by friends and family that "it wasn't going to be easy--but it will be worth it". We have kept positive, and moving forward. In May, when things began to surface with these children, we decided to trust our feelings, and continue with the guidance we had felt and were being given; we obtained temporary custody of these 5 children. It was worth it just to the the smiles on their faces and hear their comments! The past 9 months have had their ups and down most definitely. We are so very pleased with all the progress that has been made with the children--they have much to overcome. All 15 of us have put for a huge effort to help our family continue to move forward, and progress for the better. These efforts are now paying off. Everyone is happy and healthy, what more could we want.

We have just received notice of an attempt to terminate our guardianship of the children. We are remaining constant to our inspiration that we felt 9 months ago. And will continue to move forward with our goals for everyone. We know the Lord's hand has been in this from the beginning. What is best for these children will happen. We are praying for His continued guidance in our families lives. The children are putting their trust in us, and in these things we are trusting in the Lord.

You must train your intuition -- you must trust the small voice inside you which tells you exactly what to say, what to decide.
